Intro: Iida Talasmäki/Justiina

Hi and merry meet everyone!

I'm one of the staff members here at the Writing Club, which is extremely exciting. I'm from Finland, so my first language is Finnish and I hope that when I make mistakes just correct them. That's how I keep learning! :D

I love writing and it's my only passion. I want to be a writer and I will be one. At the moment, a Finnish company Elisa Kirja is going to publish my anthology of poetry, Itseisarvokkuus, as an E-Book. The title translated in English it would be something like Intrinsic dignity, like Intrinsic value and dignity combined together. It's in Finnish only, sorry, but I'm kind of excited that it's really going to be published! I don't like e-books, but I have to settle with it now. :D So, that's about me writing an original stuff. Books and poetry.

But of course I still write a fanfiction. It's a hobby and it helps me improving my writing skills and trying new things. My favourite fandom is and always will be Harry Potter. Secondary I have Buffy the Vampire Slayer and then there goes some random fandoms in random order. My favourite pairings at fanfiction: Absolutely Harry/Ron! I also love Severus/Remus and I think Draco and Hermione would make a great couple, they're more suitable for each other.

At HiH I'm a first year Slytherin (go snakes! ♥ I love my house :D) and with the same name as here, Iida Talasmäki. Yes, it's written with two i's and has an ä with it. I hate my name, so usually I use Justina Swift over the internet. My friends call me Justiina (finnish version of Justina), because it suits me better, so I'm going to use Justiina with my "signature". :) You can also find me with nicknames Fredu, jusmcwife, jusmcgee, tunturiprinsessa (dA) and iskelmäprinsessa (Spotify).

And now, five random facts I like everyone to know:

1. I have an epilepsy
2. I'm eclectic wiccan
3. My best friends are stereotypic gay Simo, awkward and shy Miiku and my diaries
4. I have a Harry Potter themed tattoo
5. I'm a bibliophile

Now it's all almost settled. :D I wanted to do a long intro post that you would get to know me. It might help you to understand my texts, or not. x) Oh, I'm sorry, but I'm awful smiley addict! If I don't use them, I feel like dementors had attacked. So that's why you have to settle with these smileys. :)

Staff Intro: Dita Noelani

Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Dita, and you guys know me on the site by my full name, Dita Noelani. I'm very excited for the future of this blog and club :)

I've been writing since I was nine, about seven years. I've almost always wanted to be a writer, although now I'm concentrating more on short films, though that does involve some writing! I love writing exercises, and I hope I can get some of you guys participating in some I might post.

I'm also going to be hosting a weekly writing prompt. Not sure yet what day it will be, but it will be a variety of links to blog posts I thought were awesome, prompts I come up with myself, and stuff I find on the internet. It won't be a lot of words each week, but hopefully it will challenge you guys and be fun! Of course :)

Hello, everyone!

My name is Kajsa (pronounced Kysa) and I'm a junior in college in Southern California. I've been writing for most of my life, with several novels consistently in the works and many short pieces, and even completed a novel in 2011.

I am a science fiction and fantasy fan - Harry Potter, Jules Verne, Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Supernatural - as well as a classics fan - Jane Austen, Shakespeare - and contemporary works by young authors, such as Prophecy of the Stones by Flavia Bujor.

I am really excited to be part of this blog and part of the online Hogwarts program. When school starts in October, my participation may slow but I'll be able to post and write at least twice a week! I can't wait to get started!

Intro- Hazel Cunningham

Hello everybody! My name is Hazel Cunningham. I'm 23 years old and have been married for 8 months now. People still call us newlyweds but I feel like I've been with him my whole life (it's only been 3 and a half years but that's still a long time).

 I recently started writing so I may not be the best at it but I do love to do it. I'm looking forward to learning more and more here and maybe even start writing down an idea I have for a book. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

Describe Yourself

Alright, I know many of you are awaiting our first activity, and although this isn't exactly what you've been asking for, I thought it would be a fun icebreaker game (that would also improve vocabulary) for us to all think of one word that describes ourselves. Well, not just describes... what I'm trying to say is... think of a word that not only describes you, but also takes up the entire essence of your being. Your word should some up all of your qualities (good and bad) in one adjective. To show you what you what I mean, I'll start. My word is "explosive". I chose this because I am a very fun-loving person, but that can also get in my way, as I am sometimes aggressive towards those who don't share my ideals. I am also intelligent (being a Ravenclaw and all), and sometimes facts and knowledge just "explode" out of me. If you're brave enough to share, go ahead and post your word in the Comments section below, and make sure to have fun with (and not stress out about) this activity! If you can't come up with a word, keep thinking, and eventually, it'll just hit you. It did for me.
